I'm shocked by these lousy reviews. What were people's expectations? This is not Casablanca. Far better than the last two in the series, in line with the fun of the first one. It's a fun movie. A fun movie. Did I mention that it's a fun movie? So for anyone looking for some fun, this one's for you. For anyone who is interested in celebrity excess and knows what the Met Gala is, absolutely do not miss this. Don't take it seriously, but have fun!

If I were to compare it to the other Ocean's movies, I'd rank this as the second best amongst them all. It's your classic heist movie with wit and humor done really well with an amazing cast. Not sure what others were expecting to lambast it or the female casting so harshly.

Ocean's 8 should be great fun. Instead, it's a kind of noncommittal semi-fun. Interesting and entertaining. Having never seen the original movies, I came into this movie blind but it didn't stop me from liking it. I enjoyed the characters and all their interactions and found the actions taken great, especially the twist.

Though the concept is not new, it's great HEISTS type of movie. The fans of the earlier part will definitely be satisfied with this part. And because there are all women, the dialogues are usually mixed with the ladies kind of talk which men would definitely find hilarious and stupid I should say. It's a funny and engaging movie, but not that detailed. The film is predictable too ,lacks a bit of suspense

The unsaid truth of Ocean's 8 is that the women in the film have all evolved beyond cries of empowerment. They know they are better than the men and so they treat them like accessories -- they are 'trying the men on'.These women make the men 'characters in their plan' and discard them when they become too big for that. And here's the beautiful part.Movies such as Ocean's 8 or Veere Di Wedding (a terribly directed movie that works primarily because it defines 'The New Indian Superficial') are bringing the women to them. These are not movies that offer women any 'reflection' -- oh no, let's be clear about that. But one look at the women who're treating these movies as events to be attended with their gal pals, and you realise that they are not just having fun, but also discovering a sense of 'self' within all that glossiness.

The plot is thin and fans of stunts and unexpected turnarounds may remain unsatisfied. But that's not a big deal. The pleasure lies especially in the interactions between the actresses as well as in the absolutely magnificent clothes (fashion is a full-fledged character in this film). Sisters Are Doin 'It For Themselves, sang Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin in the 80's. It's a bit like that, Ocean's 8: the pleasure and the strength of feminine solidarity. The crime is incidental. A great movie.

Fans of Ocean's 11 , 12 and 13 films will love this spin-off to the 100% female cast. It must be said, it's a little Christmas on the screen with all these excellent actresses. And, which does not spoil anything, they obviously have a lot of fun playing together. Cate Blanchett is surprising in his role as bar owner and with his Ziggy Stardust look. Anne Hathaway actress a little intense is quite credible. Overall, a great movie to fill your weekend.

A spin-off like such shouldn't assume that the clock is going to resume ticking but instead will have to work from zero and even work harder considering the expectations it has to satisfy. The camera work is appreciative and is shot beautifully too where its rich costume design makes it worth along with the up beating sound department that elevates its momentum. The enthusiasm and passion towards the project is clearly visible but the "fan-struck" charge isn't enough to feed off the audience for almost two hours. The characters depicted in here, are raw, chalky and taken from a typical heist genre features that never move pasts its dull sub-plot. The screenplay keeps the audience engaged but the most part of it, is the star power which isn't utilized to its best but left up to fate and charm. Gary Ross; the director, is quite convincing and stays true to the tone of the franchise with his decent execution skills but fails to create the anticipated impact on screen. Anne Hathaway is flat out hilarious in her portrayal of a bratty celebrity but other than that, the cast (Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson and Helena Bonham Carter) is surprisingly enjoying a bit much to keep the crisp alive or factor in effectively and the primary reason would be the range and space which isn't much to explore. The stakes projected in here never communicates with the audience as the work behind it is somewhere lost in its self-created scrutiny and the urge to hold the cards up the sleeve until the final act arrives. Considering the strength and the potential of the cast, it seems like a swing and a miss on terms of originality and craft as the makers seems distracted by the commercial aspects of it. Ocean's Eight is a familiar heist with undercooked characters that is pretentious than it is feasible for the makers, actors and the audience.

The film does manage to pick up pace and get more exciting in the second half when they pull off the heist. The editing is crisper, transitions feel sleeker and the ultimate twist is indeed impressive. And this twists the knife in even more cruelly for Gary Ross did have a worthy idea but failed to bring it to fruition. Ocean’s 8 is nowhere as wholesome as the fans had imagined it to be. So am I still up for all-female reboots? Definitely, as long as they have a director -- male or female – who can bring them to life.

Ocean’s 8’ drops all the men in favour of a scintillating cast of women. The new all-women setup puts a fresh perspective on this heist franchise. As you’d expect from an ‘Ocean’s’ movie, this film has some great set pieces on planning the robbery. Because the film’s central characters are all women, their conversations mix the usual hustle talk with fashion, shopping and style related subjects and that makes things interesting. While they do talk about men too, thankfully it doesn’t go over-the-top with the bashing or swooning. The girls stay focussed on their task at hand, to pull off the heist in the smartest of fashion. The film has the same busy and slick feel of Steven Soderbergh’s movies with George Clooney; it’s just as funny and engaging too. But it’s not as smart or detailed as those films. In an attempt to pull off the twists, the film takes a few cinematic liberties.

I really enjoyed this movie and found all the cast members to be very fun to watch. Some of the people i saw the movie with thought it was kind of slow at the beginning. That didn't bother me at all. I found all the planning and attention to detail to be pretty interesting. And, once the plan was in motion, I was very caught up in it. Very entertaining and enjoyable.

ocean 8 is the movie that continues with a new all-star female cast, an entertaining heist, and more depth than any other installment in the series. The slick and sophisticated world of ultra-complicated criminality continues to expand in Ocean’s 8, a satisfying spin-off of the hit Ocean’s 11 franchise with an all-star cast of amazing women, including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina and Sarah Paulson. It’s as impressive an all-star lineup as any heist movie ever had, and just like all the other entries in the Ocean’s franchise, a big part of the appeal is just watching these stars hang out together, plotting the heist and commiserating about their problems. Ocean’s 8 makes great use of the entire cast’s talents, giving everyone laugh-out-loud and victorious moments as they scheme to steal the world’s most valuable diamond necklace from the prestigious Met Gala in New York City. Sandra Bullock stars as Debbie Ocean, the sister of Danny Ocean (played in the previous films by George Clooney). She’s spent the last few years in prison, plotting an elaborate robbery that will require seven - yes, seven - highly skilled thieves to pull off correctly. She reunites with her old partner, Lou (Blanchett), and assembles a small army of jewelry experts, fashion designers, sleight of hand artists, computer hackers and single-mom highway robbers to infiltrate the exclusive publicity event and manipulate the egotistical superstar Daphne Kluger (Hathaway) into being .Like the other Ocean’s movies, Ocean’s 8 is stylish and appealing, but exceptionally low on stakes. No one’s life is in serious danger, and just before the heist begins, Debbie even goes out of her way to tell the rest of the team that prison isn’t nearly as bad as advertised. And of course, this isn’t the kind of crime movie where all the criminals turn on each other and it ends in a violent bloodbath. The audience knows early on that everything’s going to turn out fine, making Ocean’s 8 - again, just like all the Ocean's movies - less suspenseful than many other heist films. But that isn’t a bug, it’s a feature. The Ocean’s movies aren’t so much about the heists as they are about making the impossible look easy. Steven Soderbergh’s movies used that breezy charm for light escapism, and that was effective enough for light entertainment. Gary Ross’s film transforms that confidence into something inspirational. Taking the franchise away from the original proprietors who treated it like a lark, and giving it, instead, to female actors who don’t typically get these types of roles has undeniable significance that the characters themselves acknowledge. “Somewhere out there is an eight-year-old girl lying in bed, dreaming of being a criminal,” Debbie Ocean tells her team. “Let’s do this for her.” And so they do. The cast and crew of Ocean’s 8 - in the film and behind he cameras - pull off an impressively entertaining heist, with all the reversals and humor and prestige we’ve come to expect from this franchise, along with additional layers that make the film truly distinctive. Setting the heist at the Met Gala isn’t a coincidence: Ocean’s 8 also delivers sharp commentary about celebrity culture. The crew manipulates gossip columns for their own personal gain, commiserates about the scathing reviews that hurt one of their troupe’s feelings, and respond with disgust when they are mistaken for - shudder - journalists. Ocean’s 8 gives its characters the power to challenge, subvert and take total advantage of expectations, and come out victorious on the other end. And it's that kind of thoughtfulness that separates Ocean's from other heist movies, and elevates it above the usual summer entertainment pabulum. THE VERDICT Ocean’s 8 is the most satisfying installment in the franchise. The all-star cast is impeccable, the shift in focus yields sharp insights, and the heist itself is wily and enjoyable. What the film lacks in suspense it makes up for in style.
